The Jay Football team is coming off of a season of transition.  The 2018 Jays were inconsistent and consequently, so were the results.  The Jays compiled a 4-6 record with the highlights being victories over two arch rivals in Columbia Hickman & Battle.  The 2019 Jays have worked very hard during the off-season in the weight room and on the football field.  The Jays return five starters on offense and five starters on defense, as well as, several other players who played significant minutes in varsity contests.  The Jays will be lead by the following returners:  Brandon Backues (OL/DL), Sam Jakob (OL/DL), Tyler Johnston (DL), Alex Burkhead (OL/LB), Cole Gresham (QB), Devin White (WR/DB), Darrell Jones (WR/DB), Orentheus Pitts (RB/DB), Nick Williams (WR/LB), Mike Heislen (WR/LB), Jake Duke (H/LB), and newcomer David Bethune (RB/DB).  The Jays traditionally have a challenging schedule and this year will be no exception.  All of the Columbia schools (Hickman, Battle, & Rock Bridge), as well as, Kirkwood, DeSmet, Chaminade, and Rockhurst.  The Jays have been working hard.  It's time to put all of this work into action for 2019.  GO JAYS!
