Lady Jays 2nd at Lebanon

LEBANON — The Jefferson City Lady Jays finished second in the Lebabon Pinkfest on Saturday.

Jefferson City defeated Fatima 25-15, 25-20 and Glendale 25-22, 25-22, and tied Marshfield 25-19, 22-25 in pool play.

The Lady Jays made it to the championship match by beating New Covenant Academy 25-11, 25-8 and Lebanon 25-15, 25-18.

In the title match, Hermann topped Jefferson City 25-14, 25-23.

Annabelle Maassen acounted for a team-high 75 kills and 29 digs in the tournament. Kayla Walters added 32 kills, Paige Reeser led with 118 assists and 30 digs, Rylie Bohanan tallied 43 digs, Rhakala Blackmon had 12 blocks and 11 kills and Sarah Linthacum finished with 12 kills and 10 blocks.

Jefferson City (24-3-1) hosts Helias (14-7) on Tuesday. The freshman match will start at 4:30 p.m. with the JV match starting around 5:30 p.m. and the varsity beginning around 6:30 p.m. at Fleming Fieldhouse.
